Troubleshooting
In-depth solutions to common issues and errors you might encounter.
Troubleshooting Guide #
OneMoreBrain uses Windows keyboard, window, and browser features. Security software, Windows settings, or restricted environments can occasionally cause unexpected behavior.
Check the comprehensive solutions below before reaching out to our support team.
1. The Window Isn't Appearing #
You've launched the application, but you can't see the overlay anywhere on your screen.
- Are you hidden?: The most common reason is that the window launched in its hidden state. Press
Ctrl + Shift + Wfirmly to toggle the window's visibility. - Did the process start?: Open Windows Task Manager (
Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and look for the name of the application you downloaded. The filename may vary. If it is not listed, the application may have crashed or been blocked from starting. - Is it rendering off-screen?: If you recently changed your monitor setup (e.g., unplugged a secondary display), the window might be rendering on a monitor that no longer exists. Restarting the application usually resets its position to the center of your primary display.
- Try the visibility toggle: The client normally has no taskbar or system-tray entry. Press
Ctrl + Shift + Wbefore assuming that startup failed.
2. Hotkeys Aren't Working #
You are pressing Ctrl + Shift + P or Ctrl + Shift + W, but nothing happens.
- Restricted environment or shortcut interference: A restricted environment, security product, or another keyboard utility may block shortcuts.
- Solution: Close conflicting macro tools, launch the client before entering the restricted environment, and check that environment's security policy. Administrator access may not fix the issue.
- Key Conflicts: Ensure you don't have another macro program (like AutoHotkey, Razer Synapse, or Corsair iCUE) intercepting the
Ctrl + Shiftcombinations. Close these background applications and try again.
3. "Human Paste" is Dropping Characters or Failing #
When you try to auto-type, the text is garbled, missing letters, or simply doesn't type at all.
- Typing Too Fast: This is the most common cause. It happens when OneMoreBrain types faster than the target application's text buffer can process.
- Solution: Use the Typing Delay slider in the sidebar and increase the millisecond delay between characters.
- Focus Issues: Ensure you have actually clicked inside the text box of your target application before pressing the hotkey. The cursor must be blinking in the host app.
- Try Unicode Paste: If the target does not accept Human Paste, try Unicode Paste (
Ctrl + Shift + V) instead. It uses a different text-transfer method, but the target may still reject it.
4. Blank Screen, White Window, or "Failed to Initialize WebView" #
OneMoreBrain relies heavily on the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime to render the user interface and your browser tabs. If you see a blank white box or a rendering error, your system is missing this component.
- Solution: Download and install the WebView2 Runtime from Microsoft's official website. Choose the "Evergreen Bootstrapper" for the easiest installation, then restart the client.
- GPU Acceleration Issues: Rarely, outdated graphics drivers can cause WebView2 to render a black or blank screen. Update your Nvidia, AMD, or Intel graphics drivers to the latest versions.
5. Cannot Connect to Server / Login Failed #
You enter your credentials, but the login spins endlessly or returns an error.
- Internet Connection: Ensure you have an active, stable internet connection and that the account service supplied with your installation is reachable.
- Firewall/Antivirus Blocking: Security software or network policy may block an unrecognized executable or its WebView2 processes.
- Solution: Follow your organization's security process and contact the deployment administrator. Do not create exclusions without authorization.
- VPN Issues: If you are using a VPN, try disabling it. Some strict corporate or school networks block the live connection required by the application.
6. The Client Logs Me Out Unexpectedly #
The account service may end the session when the connection is lost or when it sends a stop request. The client hides the app tabs, signs out, and displays the reason when one is provided. Some networks may block the live connection needed for these updates.
7. Freeze AV Does Not Change the Status #
The Freeze AV control affects only supported camera and microphone components selected by Windows. It may show no change when a device is managed by another component or Windows denies access. The control is not a universal camera or microphone switch.
